Naxos, an island of 428 sq.km, is the largest and richest island of the Cyclades. Stock-breeding
and agriculture are flourishing on the island and a wine of exquisite quality is produced, as well
as "Naxos Citron", unique all around the world. With a coastal length of 148 km, Naxos has many
very beautiful beaches, like the ones at Agia Anna, Agios Prokopios, Alikos, Castraki, Mikri Vigla,
Plaka and Agios Georgios at Hora, the capital of the island which has 7.000 inhabitants.The island
has 52 small and large villages (Apiranthos, Filoti, Koronos, Apollonas, Moni, Melanes, Koronida
etc.) Naxos offers its visitors many comforts. It is connected with Athens by plane and with the
port of Pireaus and all surrounding islands by ferry.
