My name is Constantinos Dimopoulos and I am a second-year Ph.D. student at the
Computer Science and Engineering Department
at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
I am working in the Web Exploration and Search Technology Lab under the supervision of Professor
Torsten Suel. For further information about me, see my resume.
I am currently looking for summer internships, hence if you are interested contact me.
My current research is focused on four projects.
Efficient Geographical Web Search Query Processing: we use the lightweight spatio-textual index structures proposed in our CIKM'11 paper and extend these approaches to top-k spatio-textual queries with early termination.
Web Graph Compression: we analyze the Web Graph structure using mining techniques and exploit the extracted knowledge to achieve better space/time tradeoffs.
Top-k Query Processing Optimization: we work on Early Termination techniques for disjunctive queries in Search Engines by trying to further optimize existing methods of our group using new ideas.
Text Search in Social Graphs: we study the problem of efficient text searching in social graphs under social-aware ranking functions based on fast text query processing techniques and distance oracles.
