How To Show/Search Hidden Files On A mac
On a mac like a common pc, there are hidden files. Those files remain hidden so to prevent you from doing any damage to the OS. Such files can be created by your OS or by any other third party software that you install. You can view those files either by using an application or going through the command line. I prefer the second way but i will show you both.
1.Through application
This is the simplest method because the only think you have to do is to download houdini (free application) that does all the work for you. This application also enables you to hide your files or folders.
2.Through terminal

The first command tells your OS to show hidden files while the second restarts finder so it can list now all the files.
If you want to hide those files again you replace TRUE above with FALSE.
This method showed how to view hidden files on a Mac.
But how can i enable the search field to search for hidden files?
This is an easy task :
1.You open a finder window (which has to be active) and you go to file menu and hit find (or just press command+F).
2.A “Searching this Mac” window will show up which gives many choices of how you want your search to be. In the drop-down menu labeled kind, select other.
3.Then, in the sheet that will appear find and check the “file invisible” option.
4.In the drop-down menu next to the one that you were, select if you want to search visible or invisible files or both.
5.You are done! now you can search through all your files even the hidden ones..
