Hello, my name is Jeries Besharat!
I was born in the city of Patras in 1986. I succeeded at the
University of Aegean in 2004. In 2009 I graduated from the Department of
Information & Communication Systems Engineering (ICSD) of the school of
engineering from university of Samos. Then, continued my studies at the
University of Patras as a Master student in the Department of Computer
Engineering and Informatics (CEID) and became a member of the data base group.
In 2011 I graduated from the MSc (Master of Science) in "Computer Science and
Technology". After my graduation, I continued as a Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy)
student and now I am a member of the mobile and ubiquitous computing group.
Currently I am working at the Computer Technology Institute and press
I have been working on different kind of projects like: e-learning platforms, mobile application development, sites & portals. I am passionate with Java and Android development.
- Augmented reality
- Mobile development
- Social networks
- Data mining
CTI & Press "Diophantus"
I currently work as a Software engineer at the Computer Technology Institute and Press "Diophantus" for 2 years. I created usable platforms using Drupal, contributed and developed modules and mobile applications. Apart from the projects I participated, I offered advice and services to other projects.
I developed a web site for a public radio station titled "Ilida". Using Bootstrap and single page approach, the site has all the needed functionality combined with a flat design and intuitive structure
I developed a web site for a private company titled "Eireen Scarves". My objective was to make a positive impact on their clients. Using my skills and experience on development i coded an attractive website using jQuery and PHP along with HTML 5 and CSS3.
I developed the official mobile application of a well known radio station in the city of Patras, Greece. The application offered social services such as sharing content and sending SMS. Users can listen from everywhere, read news and get information for upcoming events.
I developed a mobile application for the Android platform for the shopping malls in Athens, Greece. Gmall (aka Greek-Mall) is an application that can be your guide during a visit in a shopping mall. Users can get driving directions to the mall, information, explore the mall using the indoor map and search for stores.
During my military services, I have dealt as network administrator assistant. My main obligations were to fix any server issues and maintain the computer network in order to operate properly. That was the time where i learned how to make Ethernet cables :) .
University of Patras.
Currently i am working as a researcher in the Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing team at the University of Patras, Greece. My field of research
focuses on a technique to visualise information in augmented reality with the goal of investigating how the
combination of paper maps and information on local social context (real time check-ins and historically derived data visualisation)
can aid visitors of the city uncover and explore the hot and interesting areas.
Master of Science
University of Patras
I post-graduated from the MSc in "Computer Science and Technology" from the department of
Computer Engineering and Informative
at the University of Patras. During that period i have been working with the group of the database laboratory
where i gained team working experience. I developed various data mining tools and our main focus was text and

University of Aegean, Samos
I studied computer engineering at the Department of Information & Communication Systems Engineering.
During these 5 years of education, i studied among others object oriented programming, artificial intelligence and
data mining. I became familiar with programming languages such as Java, C and C++.
