THE KASTLE

In the bullding of the kaste many races contributed such as Pelasgians,Doreis,Romians,Byzantins,Frags and Turks.The Pelasgians bult the acropolis with enormous stones on the hill.The Frags lengthened the walls of the kasstle to the sea.The final shape of the kaste was given by the Enets who built higher and impressive walls.They also entrenched the portby bulding two towers which protected the opening (of the port).

Later the Turks added other buldings such as mosques and public baths.Today it is the emblem of the town and the only Kastle in Europe that has five Defending zones from the port to the top of the hill.
